Liposhifting

For many women with cellulite deep surface irregularities give their thighs the appearance of the moon's surface. There are also those women who, having had liposuction in the past, now find that thay are left with imperfections. Often these are areas where too much fat was removed leaving an uneven contour.

Correcting these kinds of cellulite and post liposuction defects has always proved difficult. Yet now a unique procedure called liposhifting is available to correct these irregularities. A specially designed cannula is used to break up subdermal scarring and shift fat around to fill in the existing defects.

After the procedure is completed the area is taped for several days to insure that the mobilized fat grafts successfully to the recipient site. Occasionally fat will be harvested from another body site and injected into the area to be corrected to further improve any existing defect. Liposhifting is done only with local tumescent anesthesia similar to how Dr. Wasserman performs all his liposuction procedures. Usually, the procedure is performed only once. Sometimes a touchup is requires.
