Thread Lift: Scottsdale, Phoenix, Arizona
The idea of using some form of string or thread to lift
and support the skin of the face is not new. As long as facelifts
have been performed surgeons have attempted to create a successful “stringlift’.
In the 1970s gold threads were used to create a skin redraping
on the face.
In the late 1990s a Russian physician Dr. Marlen Sulamanedze
created the Aptos threads (anti-ptosis threads). These were
subsequently called the Featherlift threads. Considered a
fairly good way of creating subtle tissue lift for the mildly
sagging face the Featherlift should be credited with reopening
the role for non-surgical facelifting.
Another resurrection of a thread lift technique came when the
father of modern fat transfer and syringe liposuction, Dr.
Pierre Fournier began repopularizing the “Curl
Lift or Soft
Lift’. Once again a method of suspension dating
back to the 70s the Soft Lift worked to lift sagging cheeks,
brows and jowls without cutting or significant downtime.
The latest entrant in the arena of “minimally invasive” facelifting
are the Contour Threads. The brain child of Dr. Gregory Ruff,
a Duke University plastic surgeon, the Contour Threads have
been years in development. Having been recently FDA approved
these threads answer many of the problems of earlier threads
and offer the best results available to date.
As the cosmetic enhancement arena continues to evolve more
and more emphasis is being placed on creative and effective
techniques that minimize patient downtime while maximizing
natural results. Dr. Scott Wasserman is proud to be at the
forefront of this cosmetic evolution.
